Biography

1986: Crisis was formed at an English Public School where Neville Meredith put together a three-piece prog-rock band with Simon Brown and Ian Reid. Between 1986-1989 they recorded a couple of albums that would later make up the recently released ‘No Loitering’ LP.

1991: Pro jazz/blues drummer Paul Pinder joined Neville Meredith and Simon Brown and recorded the EP ‘Intoxication’. Meredith turned down two record label deals because they wanted to change the image and style of music.

1995: The world changed… the internet was born. Meredith had just finished recording a vinyl EP with the band (Shuzbutt) … The band was falling apart, Meredith asked Shuzbutt’s bass player Russell Grooms to resurrect Crisis with him.

1996:  UK CRISIS  recorded the album ‘Adversity’ and released it via mp3.com on Meredith’s own record label RomanTown. Due to a name conflict, the band name changed to UK CRISIS. Three more albums followed over the years ‘Spirit Level, ‘Crossover’ and ‘Small Town Prisoner’… They received critical acclaim on the web winning several Indie Internet Music awards and selling albums & downloads all over the world.

2017: The band released two singles and video singles ‘Solitude’ and ‘Decimated’. These tracks featured Tomas Reinerson on bass: Tomas is a solo artist, session musician, composer, bands include Zero Illusions, Celestial Decay, Rebel Gel, and Christian Thordin on keyboards: Christian is a composer and session musician, well known as being one half of the band Unifaun with Nad Sylvan (currently lead singer with the Steve Hackett band)

2020: Three albums and two EP’s were re-released, digitally remastered. At this time Neville Meredith and Russell Grooms reformed and recorded the concept album ‘Future Dark Ages’..

2021: Release of the movie ‘Spirit Level’ on Romantown Films. A rockumentary about the band filmed between 1996-2014… Release of the album ‘Future Dark Ages’.

2022: Released the album ‘Perpetual Motion’…
