World Trade Center Captive Insurance Co. Makes a $350 Million Mistake

After reading about the $350 mistake that the World Trade Center Captive Insurance Company committed, it made me think of all of the 9/11 workers who could have benefited from that money. How could not telling the construction companies that they might be held liable would end up hurting the WTC workers. I find this completely unfair in which the Bloomberg administration should take the blame for it. The WTC 9/11 workers put their lives on hold and did everything they could to help the situation. Sacrificing countless man hours, time away from their families, as well as the emotionally draining work they did day in and day out. When they showed signs of illnesses their safety should have been the first priority, and it ended up being one of the lasts.

The illnesses that the 9/11 workers experienced due to the work conditions at the WTC caused respiratory problems, cancer, and other complications due to the toxins that they were exposed to. The Bloomberg administration made a major mistake by not notifying the construction companies that they may be held liable. What they didn't do was simple protocol that was forfeited by their administration. I don't know if it was ignorance or a complete mistake, but either way it was a move that has serious consequences. These types of rules must be taken seriously for the insurance coverage from the construction companies to take affect. However that is the exact opposite from what the World Trade Center Captive Insurance Company actually did.

The failure to tell the construction companies about their possible liability for insurance companies of the WTC workers has cost the workers full coverage of their medical expenses. This is a huge disappointment for the workers because many of them were relying on that money to support their families due to being out of work. The insurance coverage that may now be void should fall on their hands of the World Trade Center Captive Insurance Company. It is their responsibility to take hold of the mistakes that they made and make the situation right again.

Thousands of World Trade Center workers have devoted a portion of their lives to help the World Trade Center become whole again. And now when the WTC workers are asking for others to be responsible and own up to their mistakes, they are looking the other way. These ground zero workers have been out of work and injured for nearly seven years and have yet to see a light at the tunnel. Seeing this project gain seem is very good news, however ground zero workers have still be left with medical conditions because of their work at the 9/11 site. Napoli Bern Ripka supports 911 rescue workers that have experienced medical problems due to their working conditions and have yet to be compensated for it. Napoli Bern Ripka is doing everything they can to get the compensation for the rescue workers, and encourages people to participate in the Journey for 911. If you are a 911-rescue worker who is still waiting for compensation for medical bills, please don't hesitate to contact us.
